Loren W. Collins and family papers, 1862-1954.

Letters (1862-1863) of Collins concern the Dakota Conflict, the executions of its Dakota leaders at Mankato (Minn.), and the Sibley expedition into Dakota Territory. Collins' Civil War letters (1865) describe military action along the Mississippi and Tennessee rivers and in Alabama with the Seventh Minnesota Infantry.
